The Swizzlestick!
01.29.2004, 10:50 amOh, the Woes of Being a Repairman

Don't ever try to take apart a [banker's lamp]. It is a giant pain in the ass.

See, what happened is that the lamp I had broke when I was moving into my room here at school. Well, the glass shade on it cracked, but it was still usable and all that. But then, last week, a very large chunk of glass fell off of it. Soooo, rather than risk my life every time I turned my lamp on or off (it was very sharp), I just got a new one.

The base of my old one was heavier and better quality than that of the new one, so I decided to just switch out the shades. Well, it took about an hour, which is far too long for a task such as this.

Also, [Aleah] makes awesome cupcakes. And this is coming from a guy who has an intense dislike for cake. I just thought I'd share that with you all. :P

01.23.2004, 03:39 pmNothing Too Exciting Happening Here

[Lindsay] is coming out to visit me this weekend. Well, she has an audition at a music school, and I'm going to go with her. It involves being somewhere that's two hours away at 8:00 in the morning, and I'm still not really sure how she talked me into going. (I'm kidding, of course. I volunteered to go, god have mercy on my soul.)

Should be a good time, though. w00t! But i had to hide all my pr0n bookmarks. Sigh.

I'm having all kinds of problems. I broke my banker's lamp, and now I have to buy a new one. I hope they don't cost too much. Sigh. I wish you could get replacement glass bits for these bad boys. Also, I can't get my Fight Club poster to stick to the wallpaper here. It's really starting to piss me off. If anyone has any hints on how to stick shit to wallpaper that don't involve tacks/nails/staples, do me a favour and [hit me up].

Also, this is why people love me so much:

Craig: I have 170 pages of reading in one class.
Me: Wow, I would kill myself.
Craig: And 150 in the other.
...
Me: Anyway, happy reading.
Me: I'll be listening to the new Crystal Method cd.
Craig: Have fun with that, hog fucker.
Me: I will. [:

I don't know, was that mean of me? Maybe.

News Flash! I've updated the [page about me] a bit. It now includes more things no one cares about, such as the fact that I hate soup. Yay! I also added the [digital] section. Enjoy! [:

Hmm.... You know, this might explain... something. Damned if I know what. I'm just glad I'm not paranoid. In other news, I hate computers. They make my life a living hell. That is all.

I said I'd take a picture, and I did. Here's the goods:

The Happy Birthday Jesus sign near RIT

I think it pretty much speaks for itself, except that it's blurry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS, it says with it's striking electric light. I'm still amazed every time I see this.

Whee, an actual update to the site. Check out my [prophecy slot machine] for some insight on how your day might be tomorrow. It's still a little repetitive, and I haven't worked out why, but maybe I will someday.

01.14.2004, 12:29 pmI Want to Shoot That Guy in the Face

Right, so I'm a lazy sod. I still haven't taken a picture of that damn neon sign. It'll get done, sometime. Really, it will. Just like that statistics project. Yeeeeeah....

Yesterday, some guy across the hall listened to Dead or Alive, by Bon Jovi for a hour straight. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.

If you like things that are funny, are familiar with IRC, and are not offended by casual mockery of the bible, you should read [this]. And, if you're offended, well... don't read it.

I'm a cowboy. On a steel horse I ride. I'm wanted (wanted!) dead or alive.

01.09.2004, 12:58 pmDamn Modern Technology

So, yesterday sucked. Here's a play-by-play:

Woke up, left room, closed door, realised I didn't have my keys.
Got a spare, got back into the room, got my keys, went to class, was late.
Realised I had no deoderant (thus sowing the seeds of my doom).
Drove to the drugstore.
Turned into the parking lot.
Slid on frictionless snow.
Hit a curb.
Wondered what that smell was.
Wondered why my arm hurt.
Wondered why there were parachutes hanging out of my dashboard and steering wheel.
Realised they were air bags.
Cursed profusely.
Saw my broken windshield.
Cursed a lot more.
Missed class.
Missed half on the next class.
Stood in the cold for a half-hour.
Took the bus to school.
Got a 100 on a statistics quiz (woohoo)!
Failed to hand in my programming homework because my school computer account seems to be broken.
Stood in the cold for another half-hour.
Took the bus home.
Saw a "Happy Birthday JESUS" neon sign (I'll take a picture later today).
Played FFX-2, ate dinner, etc.

Hooray for me.

Now, don't get me wrong. Yes, I'm complaining. Yes, it sucked. But hey, I could be a leper. My digits could be rotting and falling off even as we speak. My nose could be landing in my lap. But it's not. So, I suppose, what with not being a leper, it wasn't that bad.

01.04.2004, 03:09 pmLook, Ma, a Big Cock!

Evidently, too much hype is a bad thing.

The other night, Craig and I were driving around in southern New York for no apparent reason, and we came across a goddamn giant chicken. No, wait. A statue of a goddamn giant chicken. So we did what any red-blooded American would do: we stopped and took some pictures. Seems logical enough, right?

The Big Cock

When I got home from this trip, I was quite gleeful, and decided to show the pictures to some of my friends. One conversation went as such:

Me: I have something to show you!
Friend 1: Sup?
Me: [chicken picture]
Friend 1: LOL! OMGWTFBBQ?!

Whilst the other conversation went like this:

Me: I just saw the coolest thing!
Friend 2: Whats that?
Me: A giant chicken!
Friend 2: No way.
Me: Honest! I even got a picture of me and the fowl.
Me: [chicken picture]
Friend 2: ...It's not real.
Friend 2: I thought it was going to be real.
Me: Well, I suppose that's a huge disappointment, then.
Friend 2: Yes. Yes, it is.
Me: *cries in the corner*

That second conversation happened (with different words, of course) with another of my friends as well. So let this be a lesson to all of you. Don't hype shit that don't need hypin'. Just present the goods, lest you end up sobbing into your pillows.

01.04.2004, 4:22 amHappy New Years

Well, folks, it's 4:22, and you know what that means. That's right, it's time for... ah... fuck it.

So yes, today, I drove back to school from home. Truly an exciting event. It was sweetened a little by the fact that I got a Sister Machine Gun disc on the way, however. It rocks pretty hard, oh yes it does. I stopped at my former place of employment to pick up my checks, and, oddly enough, I ran into some of my former co-workers. I was surprised, let me tell you. Unfortunately, I waltzed in 10 minutes after the place was supposed to be closed, so one of them was a little surly, while the other was busy. Not that I blame her. I'd be surly if in the same situation....

Christmas break was... well... interesting. I saw some excellent movies whilst in Utica. The Boondock Saints, Lock Stock + Two Smoking Barrels, Memento, Pirates of the Carribean, Spirited Away.... Perhaps you've heard of some of these. I actually watched The Boondock Saints on Christmas Eve and Lock Stock on Christmas Day. I'm such a reverent fellow.

Christmas itself was nice. There was much family to be had, and I got a digital camera, which I'm sure will prove to be amusing to me, and to the detrement of you all. Muahaha....

There were many walks with craig, many discussions of women. Nothing was resolved and many things got more complicated than they were when I last checked in on them. Cest la vie, I guess.

Getting fired was a trip. It was perhaps the lamest firing ever. I didn't even find out about it from my boss, but one of my co-workers. I was talking to her one night, and she said something along the lines of "you should probably call the boss, he's been saying something about you being fired," which I found to be... oh... something pertinent. So I called him the next day, and was informed that my last day was the 2nd of January. The fact that this happened on the 30th of December kinda left me in a jam, as there was absoluely NO ONE of importance whom I could argue with working the next two days, and the day following, I was history. So, long story short, I got buggered with a flagpole, and now I have to find another job, directly after christmas. Joy of joys.

My hair is very very messed up. I look like i've been making out with someone, except for the fact that I haven't been doing that at all. Which is rather unfortunate, if you ask me. But no one ever asks me.

I'm realising that I should probably go to bed. But then I ask myself why, and I come up with no good answer. So here I am, still awake. How can I not be tired at 5:00? The world may never know.
