The Swizzlestick!
05.24.2005, 10:52 amSurvey Says!

Stolen from [Christine's LiveJournal] because I'm cool.

1. What is the geekiest part of your music collection?
Hm... probably the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I had a copy of one of Jewel's CDs (which may not be geeky, but certainly girly), but I gave it to Andrea when she was in town.

2. What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night?
Probably bagels and cream cheese. Or Doritos or Pringles, if there are any (which there usually aren't).

3. What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
I don't really remember any that I got weepy during. Than again, I don't normally watch weep-inducing movies.

4. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
Hm... I dunno. A bigger cock? Ok, ok... no. I suppose I'd have my ears flattened a bit (I honestly can't think of anything).

5. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Not that I know of?

6. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
Not talking.

7. Are you spontaneous or planned?
Spontaneous. Planned things never go through for me.

8. Who would play you in a movie?
I really haven't given it any thought. A movie about me would suck horribly, though.

9. Do you know how to play poker?
Nope! I have this thing with learning card games. Someone can teach me, and I'll be fine for a while. As long as we keep playing it. But then if they came up to me and asked me to play again a month later, I wouldn't remember how.

10. What do you carry with you at all times?
My phone, keys, wallet and (most of the time) hoodie.

11. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Being able to fuck off whenever I wanted.

12. Are you happy with your given name?
Aside from the "Daniel," yeah.

13. How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for one year?
A fucking lot.

14. What color is your bedroom?
Light blue, with dark green trim and a ceiling of wood.

15. What was the last song you were listening to?
Republica - Ready to Go (Original Mix)

16. Have you ever been in a play?
Well, I was in skits a lot way back when I was in Boy Scouts. I don't think I was ever in a proper play, though.

17.Do you talk a lot?
Not usually.

18. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
I like me, yeah. Whether or not I believe in myself... the jury's still kinda out on that one.

19. Do transient, homeless, or starving people sometimes annoy you?
I don't really encounter transient, homeless, or starving people on an average day. Unless you count me, and if such is the case, then no, they don't annoy me...

20. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
No way. I am a horrible human being.

21. Do you spend more time with your girlfriend/boyfriend or your friends?
Depends on who's in town.

22. What is your ideal marriage location?
I haven't really thought about it. I suppose Vegas.

23. Which musical instrument do you wish you could play?
Guitar. Then I'd be a rock star and get all the chicks.

24. Favorite fabric?
Lace on boobies.

25. Something you love and hate?
Women...

26. What kind of bedding do you use?
Two blankets and two pillows.

27. Do you tell your friends about your sex life?
When I'm allowed, yeah. Whether they want to hear about it or not is a completely different story.

28. What's the one language you want to learn?
I suppose German would be cool, although not too useful for me. I'm pretty happy being a monolingual lout.

29. How do you eat an apple?
Aitha ateetha.

30. What do you order at a bar?
Tequila + coke! It's yummy.

31. Have you ever pierced your body parts?
Nope.

32. Do you have tattoos?
Nah.

33. Do you drive a stick?
I sure do! It's more fun. I'll never willingly buy an automatic.

34. What's one trait you hate in a person?
When they're fucking annoying.

35. What kind of watch do you wear?
My timepiece is on my mobile phone.

36. Do you consider yourself materialistic?
A bit, yeah. But then again, everyone is.

37. What do you cook the best?
Things that boil, baby!!!

38. Favorite writing instrument?
A staedtler 9707 0.7mm mechanical pencil.

39. Do you prefer to stand out or blend in?
I'll blend in unless the ladies want me to stand out.

40. Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex?
No. Because then there would be pictures that I would have to deal with for the rest of my damn life.

41. What's one car you will never buy?
A fucking Hummer. [link]

42. What kind of books do you like to read?
Mostly fantasy, which is geeky, but there you go.

43. If you won the lottery, what would you do?
I'm sure I'd buy copious amounts of... stuff. Oh, and I'd move. And visit Christine.... Not necessarily in that order.

44. Burial or cremation?
Cremation.

45. How many on line journals do you read regularly?
1... 2... 3... 4. 4!

46. What's one thing you're a loser at?
Everything! :P

47. If you don't like a person, how do you show it?
I'm gonna agree with 'tine and go with "not talk to them."

48. Do you cry in front of your friends?
I haven't in a while.

49. What kind of first impression do you think you give to people?
I really don't know. It depends entirely on what my mood is at the time.

50. What's one thing you like to do alone?
Play games (sometimes), read, troll the internets...

51. Are you a giver or a taker?
Depends on who's doing the giving/taking.

52. When's the last time you cried?
I don't really remember. In december when Shannon was around... I think I cried then, a bit. And what's up with the morbid fascination of the survey-maker about people crying? I think they've been listening to too much Evanescence...

05.18.2005, 12:07 pmWoo-Yay!

Feeling better! I actually have been since last friday, but things were a bit hectic over the weekend and I didn't get to update. Anyway, it appears that I didn't have anthrax, syphilis, or mono, and the antibiotics they gave me did work. However, they've finally managed to find something that I was allergic to (namely that type of antibiotic), so I broke out with a super-rash:

Fucking spots

So that was fun. Dad thought I might have measels, so back to the doc I went, where they told me it was a drug rash and that I needed to get shot in the ass with steroids. Yeah. Sitting down was kinda painful for a few hours after that.

Anyway, rash is cleared up now, so all is good with the world... health-wise, anyway.

This weekend was [Erin's graduation], which was fun, since [Shannon and Andrea] came to visit, and Craig was around as well. We had [good times], and made many jokes of an adult nature. All in all, between the healing and the women and the partying, it was fine weekend.

Ever notice that every time you dial a wrong number, you end up talking to an angry old woman? Is it only me that this happens to? I just don't understand it...

05.03.2005, 4:23 pm...Feel the Little Pieces Bleeding Through...

Just finished listening to the surround mix of With Teeth. Hmm... surrounded by teeth. Anyway. It was pretty damn special. I think Sunspots is my favourite song on the album (currently), followed closely by With Teeth and Beside You In Time (trippy thing that it is). But it's all really really good.

Illness is progressing. I still have a headache and some slight chills, but aside from that I'm feeling okay. Also, I'm never, ever taking Tylenol PM again. I thought it would maybe allow me to get a good night's sleep, but all that happened was that I woke up drenched in cold sweat. I assume it was warm when it came out of me and soaked my blankets, but by the time I felt it, it was very cold, and very unpleasant. This happened two or three times during the course of the night. Never again.

05.01.2005, 8:05 pmNot Actually Better!

Turns out I'm not miraculously healed. The last two pills in the Eckerd Cold + Flu box may have been horse tranquilizers, I'm not really sure, but they worked much better than the rest of them. Very strange indeed.

Hitchhiker's Guide was bloody brilliant. I can't recommend it enough, both to people who have read the books and those who haven't. I also saw Kung-Fu Hustle, and while I tried to lay down for most of the movie because I felt like crap, it was also excellent.

Since I've been ill, I've been having really lousy dreams. I don't really remember what happens, but I know it's not really fun and it hapens over and over and over and over and...
