The Swizzlestick!
11.29.2005, 1:28 amHolier Than Thou...?

I had a chat with God (via [iGod]) today. It was, to say the least, underwhelming. When I entered the chat, there was a place to type, and a button that said "repent," so that's what I did. Try to follow along (I even kept the extra spaces):

Me: sometimes i fantasize about buttsex with the olsen twins.
God: I haven't heard anything like that before:  said   fantasize about buttsex with the olsen twins.
Me: you should try it sometime.
God: I will mention that to my botmaster.
Me: excellent.
God: What do you really want to talk about?
Me: will you spot me $5 so i can get some nachos?
God: I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.  That seems like an interesting topic.
Me: dude, i just need $5.
God: Who would you usually get that from?  Dude,.
Me: god is poorly programmed.
God: I have a lot of Faith in Him, but I never heard He was  poorly programmed.
Me: but i just want some nachos.
God: Why do you want  it?
Me: they're yummy and deliciously cheesey.
God: yummy and deliciously cheesey are  they.
Me: they are.
God: Since when?
Me: like, ever.
God: Interesting comparison.
Me: you bet. so how about that $5.
God: That's cool.   Er.  How about  it.
Me: screw this, man, i'll get my own munchies.
God: That is not very polite.

So... maybe it will get better someday. For now, though, it reflects poorly on Macs... well... vaguely, so I guess I can't complain that much. But if you're looking for some hot bot-chat action, stick with SmarterChild (although he's getting kind of annoying with the whole "sponsored ads" thing).

As a side note, I don't dislike Macs themselves (well, I don't really like using them, but I'm not like: zOMG, macc's r ghey lol!!!1), I just dislike all the silly shits who are pretentious about the fact that they use a Mac. This (often) includes the company itself. Get a life, people. To all you non-pretentious-fuck Mac users out there: thanks for not being silly shits; keep keepin' it real.

And now Google is going to send people searching for "buttsex with the Olsen twins" to my site. Sweet. Maybe I can get to be #1.

11.20.2005, 3:17 pmOh man...

I slept till 2:30 today, and I don't really know why. But now I feel like my brain is... COVERED IN BEES! Urrrggghhh...

Thanksgiving is this week, which is cool, since there's not really anything I enjoy more than anesthetizing poultry. Also of note, Craig will be home for a few days, which is excellent, since it means I won't be goddamn bored this weekend. Or, at the very least, I won't be goddamn bored by myself.

Since I work in a place that sells objects, friday is probably going to be hell. I seriously doubt people are going to come in with broken computers on the busiest shoping day of the year. It's going to be everyone saying "I want a new computer!" or "M13 b0x 15 t3h suckz0r! 3y3 n33D 4 r1g 0 l337n3ss!!1" and me sending them to Best Buy. :P

On a completely unrelated note, sometimes I wonder if my style of writing on here is boring. It certainly seems so... It's difficult to be really lively about really boring stuff, though. I'll try to pick it up a bit, but no promises. (Note to self: more weird analogies.)

11.16.2005, 1:25 pmBurn, Baby, Burn

I've had a strange fascination with people being set on fire lately. I blame Erin for this.

I checked out [Kingdom of Loathing] yesterday, and it's most excllent. Best online game I've ever played. If you're a fan of RPG, text, food, or silliness, it's worth checking out, at least. I'm a level 3 Noodlemancer, and my character name is cor_nocae, if you want to send me stuff and/or yell at me.

Today I took a picture of a large inflatable sheep. Enjoy:

The Serta sheep

Also, Erin wanted me to mention that she also really hoped to hear Hurt at the concert, not just Closer, which she called "the slutty song," I believe. I also wanted to hear Hurt, as it's awesome, but I knew they'd play it, because it was a Nine Inch Nails concert.

11.07.2005, 4:07 pmI'm gonna burn this whole world down

The NIN show last night was fucking awesome. It defies description. My ears are still ringing and I kinda want to pass out, but I'll try anyway.

Let me preface this by saying that if you've seen the Live DVD they put out a while back, it doesn't do the show justice at all. Which, I guess, really isn't surprising. So yeah. I went with Erin, my parents, and my brother (an odd family trip, but they wanted to go). We had most excellent seats. Between 100 and 200 feet from the stage, I'd say, but I could be wrong there. I would have liked to be on the floor (and would have been, if I was alone), but that wasn't really possible, so whatever.

The opening bands were even good. Death From Above 1979--which consists of two guys, some drums, a guitar, and a synthesizer, and a couple microphones--rocked really hard. I don't know any of their songs, so there's not too much I can say about them besides that they were cool.

Queens of the Stone Age, were, of course, awesome. They did all the songs I know, or pretty close to it. Burn the Witch and A Song for the Deaf were standout songs for me, since I like them both. No One Knows was the best one they did, not surprisingly. They stopped in the middle to make fun of some dude in the audience who said they sucked. Said his mom was a slut and called his goatee a "cock broom." Then they continued the song, wished good sex to everyone (except the cock broom guy) and departed. Most excellent.

Then NIN came out, and the whole place went apeshit. They opened with Love Is Not Enough, and their entire set was phenomenal, but I think my favourite songs were Eraser (one of my favourites to begin with), Burn and Dead Souls (sorry Craig). The Hand That Feeds was spectacular live, and Erin liked Closer. I was surprised they didn't play With Teeth, and slightly disappointed they didn't do All the Love In the World. I harbored secret desires to hear Just Like You Imagined and And All That Could Have Been live, but I'm not really surprised that didn't happen.

So yeah! An excellent night, and well worth the trip. Everone who went had a great time. Oh, and we stopped at a Cracker Barrel to eat, and in doing so, we found some Bone Suckin' Mustard. Pictures when I get home. (:

edit:

Aw, hell yeahThis was too awesome not to buyErin (:

11.05.2005, 12:17 amYou know...

I loathe Bon Jovi.

Actually, it's his music that I hate. I've never met him, so I guess I can't loathe him yet. But OH GOD. I first noticed when I got Dead or Alive stuck in my head for a few days. I realised how utterly stupid that song was. Yeah, yeah, it's about a biker, blah blah blah. It's stupid, end of story. And since I've been working at the computer shop, I've been hearing this song on the radio that says "When the world gets in my face, I say... *dramatic pause* Have a nice day." It's just so utterly... fucking... insipid. Ugh. Makes me want to punch someone. And I looked it up online, and it's by -- bet you can't guess who! *gasp!* It's Bon Jovi.

So yeah... loathing. And I'd like to be about the fifth person on the interweb to say that Bon Jovi is a tool.

11.01.2005, 8:57 pmBrraaaaAAAAaaaiiiinnnnnssSSSsss....

I feel like last week's leftovers after the refrigerator died. Gots a sucky little cold. Yippee.

Work was absolutely annoying today, but aside from that, it hasn't been too bad recently. Some of the computers that come in for me to fix (because that's what I do; fix computers) are absolutely beyond belief. Some have 50+ viruses, nearly all of them have AOL 9 installed. It's enough to make one ill, if one were a geek. Today I had someone who was running Windows XP, with all graphical improvements turned on, on a Celeron 300MHz with 64MB of RAM. Absoltely atrocious.

I made a CD of test tones, so I was able to indulge my audiophile side for a while. EQ'd and balanced my car system as much as I could, although it's still not quite right. I'm going to have to do some surgery. Then I got home and tested the frequency response of everything I could get my hands on. I can (faintly) hear a 20kHz tone, which is apparently somewhat exceptional, as far as humans go. Neat! It reminds me that I was thinking about using my Electrical Engineering schooling to get into some sort of audio electronics design, because I love this stuff. I'll try to remember that when I go back to school.

I was going to post about Halloween yesterday, but I felt even worse than I do today, so I never really got around to it. Hope everyone had a good one, though. I didn't do anything this year, but I'm going to blame that on my lack of friends within a 200-mile radius.

Hmm, what else... Oh yeah! I want to go to the Nine Inch Nails show in Pennsylvania this sunday. I was thinking of taking my brother, but that's still pending parental approval, which probably won't be forthcoming until later tonight. I think I'm going to go even if he can't, though, because the members of NIN are getting a bit old, and I dunno if they're going to tour again. I've already seen SMG (which wsa fortunate, because they are now no more), so if I see NIN, then I'll have seen both my favourite bands live, and that's something that I would like to say I did.

Guess that's all for now. Cheers!
